Reading is the core of Chinese teaching.Extracurricular reading is the key content of reading teaching.In Chinese teaching,teachers should pay attention to students' extracurricular reading,in order to improve students' literary literacy,broaden students' horizons.Teachers should stimulate students' interest in extracurricular reading,make students have reading motivation,and gradually cultivate the good habit of active reading,willing to read.In order to implement the relevant requirements of the new curriculum standards of Chinese,especially in combination with the actual situation of local students,the exploration and reform of extracurricular reading in Chinese teaching,to explore a new mode of extracurricular reading teaching.This study was conducted in Hetian middle school,Jing 'an district,Shanghai.This study is also one of the research on extracurricular reading in the researcher's school,which is an opportunity for the researcher to conduct action research in the school.In this study,140 students from preparatory to grade 3 were selected to guide students to carry out various kinds of extracurricular reading activities and share the reading reports of extracurricular reading.the reading results submitted and shared by students were collected and analyzed.Hetian middle school adopted the extracurricular reading teaching mode is roughly divided into two categories,one for the usual extracurricular reading course teaching,the other for extracurricular reading activities.Extracurricular reading activities mainly include reading festival activities,summer reading activities,library and teaching activities.In addition,we have published a better post-reading sense in the school journal to encourage students to read more and do more.Through two questionnaires on the extracurricular reading situation of Hetian students,this study finds that the extracurricular reading teaching in Hetian middle school has a certain effect.the various modes of extracurricular reading teaching activities influence each other,which has both advantages and disadvantages.teachers still need to constantly adjust and improve the extracurricular reading teaching.
