Baoji used to be called "Xifu",which is one of sources of Chinese Civilization.Its rich history and unique culture are prides of many Chinese decedents.The author was born and grows up in Baoji city,so he has been hoping to devote his efforts for inheriting his home town's culture.With time goes by,the past glory is gone as well.Xifu folk art was very brilliant among those folk arts,however it is facing unprecedented challenges in front of massive industrial production and foreign culture.Today,the children who live in urban area have very little chance to contact that poetic wisdom and the arts originated from the earth,they are even not familiar with the cultural root of their home town.Therefore,how to inherit and promote Xifu folk art,and enable our local children to be cultivated from local culture since their childhood,has become the common issue which many local children educators should pay attention to.Through several methods including interview,observation and object analysis,the author conducted case study for a kindergarten in Baoji regarding the application of Xifu folk art in kindergarten.On the basis of specific conditions including target setting,content selection,organization and implementation as well as activity review in the above mentioned application,the author combined current situations of other kindergartens,to analyze current situation of art education in kindergarten in terms of Xifu folk art application.According to the research results,the successful experiences for the application of Xifu folk art in kindergarten' s art education include:1.Diversified activities have shorten the distance among children,teacher,parents and Xifu folk art;2.Teacher's training have improved teacher's professional quality and art education capability;3.Focus on children and pay attention to children's emotional experience.The shortcomings include:1.Teachers have different quality in terms of Xifu folk art;2.The materials for Xifu folk art were not sufficiently distributed and the activity quality should be improved;3.The contents related to Xifu folk art are very limited;4.Poor system,complete course system for Xifu folk art was not established yet.Regarding the above mentioned issues,combining the relevant theories and practices,this research made 6 proposals and conceptions:improve teacher's art quality,establish overall development goal for children,expand the vision for content selection,and strengthen the power of organization and implementation,and focus on the completeness of education review,as well as establish cultural environment for Xifu folk fine art.Based on the above proposals and conceptions,the author wishes to provide frontline childcare teachers with some references,and promote Xifu folk art to have better application in art education of kindergarten.
