Teaching materials are the most important teaching medium,and they play an important role in the teaching process.Therefore,the compilation of teaching materials is significant particularly.With the influence of all-round the reform of basic education in our country,the reform of different kinds of teaching materials has been carried out continuously.The compilation of teaching materials can not only think about the situation of China.People also draw on the experience and advantages of other countries.It is helpful for the country to follow advanced textbook compilation in the world.Only in the process of continuous integration,can the textbook compilation be reasonable and perfect.And it can help both teaching and study,so that it can promote educational and cultural development.America occupies an important position in the world,and it is worth learning in economy,politics,culture and education.This paper compares and researches the Chinese textbooks of the People's Education Press in senior high school and American language of the Chinese Woman's Publishing House,which can help the author to find out the disadvantages of Chinese teaching materials in china.Meanwhile,the thesis also displays that the Chinese teacher learns some merits from American language when they find some problems in China.And Chinese teachers should take some effective measures in Chinese teaching practice,which can promote the development of Chinese educational theories and practices in China.Besides the introduction and the conclusion,this paper is divided into the following four chapters:Chapter one is the comparison between text selection and reading-aid system in Chinese and American senior high school textbooks.This chapter mainly includes two parts.Firstly,in the system of text selection,the author summarizes and compares the characteristics according to their organizational way of text selection and the source of the text and values,etc.Secondly,in reading-aid system,the writer sums up the characteristics through the text interpretation,the author and writing background and the social and historical connection,etc.And what's more,the writer contrasts and studies them in the interest and connecting degree of history and reality.Chapter two is the comparison between them in the aspect of exercise design.Firstly,the author sums up some characteristics about text content and related knowledge points,the subjectivity of students and the cultivation of creativity in senior high school Chinese exercise system of People' Education Press.In addition to this,the author also summarizes these characteristics in American language exercise system.Finally,the author carried out the comparative study between the cultivation of the creativity and the enjoyment in Chinese and American mother tongue teaching materials.Chapter three is the comparison of writing system in Chinese and American High School Language Textbooks.It includes the following aspects.In the first place,the author makes a summary its characteristics about writing contents and skills in the writing system of the People' Education Press.Next,the author summarizes some characteristics about writing forms,contents and skills from American high school language textbook.Lastly,the author carries out the comparative study between them.Chapter four is the enlightenment that the Chinese teacher gets according to American high school language textbook.This chapter is the main innovation of this article.Through the comparison of three chapters above,the author puts forward some measures and methods which Chinese teachers should take in the teaching practice according to the problems and disadvantages of People' Education Press.These measures and methods involve improvement of teaching interest,development of students' creativity and teaching writing knowledge.It can make up for the defects and problems in the compilation of teaching materials,so that it can improve the effectiveness of language teaching.It can develop education and culture,and promote all-round students' progress.
