| Student burnout is a negative affect,referring to student’s spiritual loss under excess stress in process of studying,which makes student’s interest on teachers,students and school activities as well as the sense of academic achievement reduced.Studies show that high school students generally have a certain degree of student burnout.It not only affects student’s current learning,but also has a crippling after-effect on their future studies and even the life-long development.Therefore,it is extremely essential to study the student burnout of high students.Previous studies have shown that social support,academic self-efficacy and personality traits are important factors that affect the student burnout of high school students.In this study,337 high school students were surveyed via Maslach burnout inventory scale,Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),Academic Self-efficacy Scale and NEO Five-Factors Inventory,and we obtained the following results:(1)Students variedy significantly in student burnout,academic self-efficacy,social support,personality traits’ neuroticism and agreeableness.The student burnout of vocational school students was higher than that of ordinary high school students,and the academic self-efficacy and social support of the former was lower than that of the latter.Besides,general high school student’s level of neuroticism of personality trait was higher than vocational school students,while the agreeableness of the former is lower that the latter.(2)There were significantly gender difference in student burnout and academic self-efficacy.Boys’ student burnout was lower than girl,while their academic self-efficacy was lower than girls.(3)Academic self-efficacy of general high school students played partly mediating role in relations between neuroticism,agreeableness of personality traits and student burnout,the mediation effects weree 55% and 35.96%.Academic self-efficacy played a completely mediating role in social support andopenness.(4)The student burnout of vocation school students hads a significant negative correlation with social support,a negative correlation with neuroticism,and a significant positive correlation with conscientiousness and agreeableness.The academic self-efficacy of vocational school students played no mediating role in the relation between personality traits and student burnout,as well as in the relation between student burnout and social support.This study enriches the domestic study of student learning,and explores different way to affect the student burnout of vocational school and high school students from social support,academic self-efficacy and personality traits.The results of the study provide a psychological basis for teacher to improve the student burnout of high school students,thus to alleviate their level of student burnout effectively. |
