The expansion of higher education expanded the number and scale of university.The number of students increased far faster than teacher.The proportion between students and teachers gradually increased from 9.8:1 to 17.5:1,and influenced indirectly the teaching quality of higher education.In recent years,more and more researchers focus on the teaching of higher education.As a compulsory course for the science student,the teaching of physical experiment has a very important value of research.Facing the phenomenon of initiative that students lack of,the author improves the teaching effect of physical experiment from the perspective of promoting learning.Base on mechanical and thermodynamic experiment materials,the author develops questions that students need preview before class.The original reason is promoting learning.The solutions are designing and giving out questions that include prepared questions and thinking question,and checking up by asking questions in class.The goal is the growth of knowledge and skills,improving thinking and ability,correcting learners' attitude.Before students begin to study the general physical experiment course,the author implements the questionnaire.The questionnaire investigates students' experimental basis.According on the principle of free combination and random distribution,students will be divided into the experimental group and the control group.On the basis of studying physical experiment materials,following the principle of purpose,the principle of scientificity,the principle of gradation and gradualism,the principle of suggestive,the principle of flexible and openness,the principle of migration,the author develops questions that students need preview.The teacher examines randomly students' reports and solves questions in time in class.After a period of teaching experiment,the author carries out questionnaire for understanding students' learning,the change of attitude and self-efficacy.The experimental results summarized as follows:1.Compared with the control group students,the experimental group studets' learning enthusiasm and initiative are improved.2.The reports of the control group is nearly same and derived from the experimental teaching materials,including experimental purpose,required equipment,experimental principle,experimental steps,etc.The reports of the experimental group are rich and no longer limited to the teaching materials.3.For a certain experimental subject,the students of the experimental group can think carefully,give a variety of experimental methods.The experimental reports are diversity in content.4.The students of the experimental group can generalize and summarize their point of view in response to questions.The method of teaching can stimulate the learning enthusiasm of students and promote students' autonomous learning.5.On experimental design,the students od the experimental group showed active thinking and innovative spirit.6.The results of Hall effect experiment showed that the questions can help students to deeply understand and obtain the principle of the experiment.Finding the following questions in the progress of study:First,the prepared questions can't apply to the instrumental experiment,such as the experiment of oscilloscope.Second,the more simple the questions are,the more students are willing to answer.Third,the degree of difficulty in designing questions is hard to grasp and also critical.
