In November 8,2016,Donald Trump,the Republican candidate,won the Democratic candidate,Hilllary Clinton,to become the forty-fifth president of the United States after a new election in the United States.But the final result statistics show that Trump's popular vote lower than the Hillary,Trump to become the United States "Minority President".Through the analysis of the electoral college system,it can facilitate our comprehension of the essence of the American politics,namely the election politics and in tum lead us to a comprehensive and deep understanding of the democracy.The Electoral College System dilemma together with the disputes in the presidential campaign is one of the significant issues faced with.This thesis is divided into three chapters to study the electoral college system.The first chapter mainly introduces the electoral college system and the 2016 U.S.presidential election,as well as the operation of the electoral college system in this election.The second chapter describes the advantages and disadvantages of the electoral college system,and explains the reasons for the existence of the system.The third chapter analyses the outlook of electoral college system and in our country for reference,this paper expounds the reform of the electoral college system of several schemes,and reflect on the practice of representative election,clear our country democracy safeguard people's main body status,protect the individual right to vote,and ensure the fundamental advantages of equal representation.
