Research On Related Issues Of Taibai Yinjing

Taibai Yin Jing was a book written by Li Quan in the middle Tang dynasty. As there was no record about its author in official biographies, there hadn't been any conclusion on the specific activities of Li Quan in academic circles for a long time, so there was much to be debated about him. On the basis of predecessors' research, we tried to do some analysis on his specific activities. We found that some of the contents in Taibai Yin Jing had a certain correlation with the Xiang Shu instruments and Wuming augury instruments in Dun Huang documents. However, this correlation was usually ignored in previous studies. The related problems of P.4837a, an art of war in Dun Huang documents, were discussed firstly. According to the analysis on the relationship between P.4837a and Woqi Jing, as well as the exposition on the correlation between P.4837a and Taibai Yin Jing, the related content of waterfall in Taibai Yin Jing and the finishing years of Woqi Jing were analyzed.Then according to the art and literature in Han Shu, the art of war was divided into four parts:the war of tactics, the war of Yingyang, the war of skill and the war of situation. As there were some contents about the war of Yingyang and ideology, the relationship between the related contents about augury (Niaoqing augury instruments) and physiognomy (Jianren articles) in Taibai Yin Jing and the Wuming augury instruments and Xiang Shu instruments in Dun Huang documents was analysed in this paper. Besides, focused on the parts of the war of Yingyang ignored in previous study on Chinese necromancy, we analyzed and discussed them in this paper.
