In the seventies and eighties of the 20th century,it was a key node for the development of the museum. At this node, the context in and outside the museum has undergone a drastic transformation, and museum practices and theories are facing a paradigm shift. The development of museum history is always accompanied by a critique of the museum.Douglas Crimp's "On the Museum's ruins" is a critical theory that starts with the art museum in this context. The art we are discussing now appears with the rise of museums and art history in the nineteenth century. They coincide with the appearance of modernism and photography. For us,the ultimate destination of art is naturally a museum,or at least an imagined museum,an idealistic space, which is also a concept developed from modernism.Crimp views the museum of art as an institutionalized expression of the concept of modern art, discusses its historical origin, reviews its numerous crises under the circumstance of the photographic media and the avant-garde art,and forms a critique of modernist art and a postmodern construction of theory.
