Through exploration of the techniques in traditional Chinese paintings and the rules of modern constitution of formal beauty,the author analyses the similarities in creative ideas,contrasts the differences and mainly explains the unique artistic charms of traditional Chinese painting techniques and the application of modern constitution in traditional Chinese painting techniques.By analyzing the historical development of the theories of traditional Chinese painting techniques,the author firstly expounds the exploration of the techniques in traditional Chinese paintings and the rules of modern constitution of formal beauty.According to an analysis of reference materials and an interpretation of relevant pictures,the author discusses the unique artistic beauty of traditional Chinese paintings.Through an explanation of the meanings and rules of modern constitution,the author then discusses the differences in composition of paintings and the rules of modern constitution of formal beauty.On the basis of an exploration of the techniques in traditional Chinese paintings and the rules of planimetric constitution of formal beauty,through an analysis of traditional Chinese paintings,the author finds out that traditional Chinese painting techniques and planimetric constitution exert similar effects in guiding principles of artistic painting.The author believes although similarities can be found,differences still exist in light of cultural significance and other aspects;therefore,one cannot be replaced by the other.The author finally discusses the reference values of planimetric constitution in traditional Chinese paintings.Through an emphasis on the cultural connotations of traditional Chinese painting techniques and the expressions of planimetric constitution ideas in traditional Chinese paintings,the author insists that paintings of flowers and birds in traditional Chinese style should keep the Chinese national traditions while resorting other techniques for reference.Traditional Chinese paintings should conform to the times,possess aesthetic value and have strong visual impacts.
