Peng Yu And His Poetry Research

Peng Ruli is a member of politics and literary arena in the late of Northern Song Dynasty political.He enforces laws impartially and speaks bluntly in political issues.He is also a representative of the Yuanyou Poetry and his poetry style is clear and simple.This paper hackles the historical documents and analyzes the poetry of Peng Ruli.It comprehensively researches Peng Ruli and his poetry from five aspects and according to the clue of great aspiration and pride-Dilemma and contradiction-struggle and breakthrough.The first chapter reviews his life experience and contact people by the historical data to show his pride and ambition.He entered the officialdom because of his scholarship in the imperial examination.However,he is demoted and works as local elementary civilian for ten years;in the officialdom he goes through three ups and downs;he insists on his standpoint in the party struggles.Secondly,the part investigates the ruling ideology and life idea from the perspective of poetry,the memorial.His core thought of his political thought is to break the normal procedure of appointing talents and pay attention to appoint county officials.When he has aggression,his thought conflicts with living environment and his concept of life ideology become peaceful and introverted even negative because of the impact of political environment and Zen.In the second chapter,it investigates the background and origin of the formation of the poetry from the perspective of Jiangxi regional culture and Peng Ruli's poetry.His poetry is deeply influenced by the cultural environment of Jiangxi and poets in the middle of the Northern Song dynasty.His poetic concept inherits the tradition of "Book of Songs" and pay attention to poetry sustenance and advocates should compose with accomplishment as for the malady of poetry of Xikun type.He pursuits the innovation of poetry and poetic feeling as to imitated problems of poetry at the beginning of Song Dynasty.The third chapter classifies his poems from the following six aspects.His poetry is rich in content and thought.The content is from the journey and work to folk customs.It has great young ambition ideas and the dream of Zen as well.He reflects difficulties and contradictions of his life through poetry.The fourth chapter focuses on the analysis of the style and features of Peng Ruli's poetry.His poetry is part of the Yuanyou poetry,has spirit in Yuanyou period and his own distinct characteristics,namely expressing narrative style through poems,preface,notes and prose writing;he does not avoid folk characters,folk metaphor and worldly affairs and puts in e in this poetry.Finally,it can be concluded that Peng Ruli is a typical Confucian intellectuals.He is with talented,ambitious,personality,courage but his official life rises and falls because influenced by the real environment.He can not really realize his ambition to serve the country and turn to popular Zen seeking enlightenment in the Northern Song Dynasty due to the reality.From his Zen poetry,he is really a wise man in the world of Zen.However,he still can't get rid of the traditional Confucianism influence on intellectuals when he comes back to real life.It forms contradiction between the conversion in Zen world and the the real world is conversed by the object".
