Yan Dongwang Oil Painting Art Style Research

Xin Dongwang(1963-2014)is a contemporary oil painter of great achievement,his deep thinking about social reality,which makes his oil painting contains a strong"humanistic care",is the spiritual core of his art;and It matches the artistic style of Xin Dongwang’s "localization",which is derived from his exploration of western oil painting and his understanding of Chinese traditional artistic conception.Xin Dongwang’s oil painting "Chengcheng" had little success earlier,and later because of oil paintings "breakfast" in the "Tenth National Art Exhibition" he won the gold medal and fame.Since then,the study of his art of oil painting has also been "warming up".there is a lot of work and comment on the research of "humanistic care"(the performance of migrant workers or the social bottom people)in Xin Dongwang’s oil painting art,there art little discussion of his unique artistic style;therefore,this article takes Xin Dongwang’s artistic style as the research objec,trying to analyze its evolution,causes,characteristics and inspiration to the contemporary.Xin Dongwang origin is a peasant family,he loves painting since childhood and he has make a living in the coal mine,printing factory,he was admitted to the "Teachers’College" to learn painting,later he went the "Shanxi Normal","Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts","Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts " as the oil painting professional teachers,his oil paintings were awarded at the exhibition in many exhibitions.Xin Dongwang’s legendary life trajectory gives his paintings distinctive style and spiritual connotation.In a sense,the "change" of Xin Dongwang’s artistic career is also a microcosm of the development of Chinese oil painting.This is an important period for the development of Chinese oil painting "localization" art style.Xin Dongwang’s oil painting art style has important significance in the "localization" of oil painting,therefore,the research of Xin Dongwang oil painting art style has important historical value and practical significance.Through the analysis of Xin Dongwang’s oil painting art,such as Xin Dongwang’s works and journal articles,Xin Dongwang’s oil paintings,his related commentary,and his related degree thesis,The evolution of artistic style,the reasons for the formation of artistic style,the characteristics of artistic style and the four aspects of contemporary revelation.Among them,the chapter on the "Artistic Style of Xin Dongwang Oil Painting" is the focus of this paper.Through the study of the theme,composition,color,shape,technique and spirit of his representative oil painting works,in order to make more objective on the artistic style of Xin Dongwang.
