Aram Ilitch Khatchaturian,as a famous composer of the Soviet Union,has created only one violin concerto in his life-Violin Concerto in d minor.This violin concerto made him the first time the Soviet National Award-Stalin Award.Khatchaturian is an Armenian,his works are often filled with rich ethnic customs,and formed his personal characteristics,very full of appeal.In this violin concerto,he expressed this charm most vividly."Character" reflects someone's understanding of things and the attitude of the world –the characteristic of the national color in Khatchaturian's works is his "national character." In view of this,to study the "national character" in Khatchaturian's works is the most intuitive way to grasp his style.So,what kind of national character in this violin concerto has reflected ? And how to reflect it by playing? In This article,through three aspects-the Armenian national characteristics,the national characteristic of rhythm and the national characteristic of tone to explore and study.
