Learners of the Chinese language have continually increased in recent years.The information of these learners has greatly changed.Firstly,low age in Chinese language education is a general trend overseas.Secondly,the number of intermediate-level students has gradually increased among foreign learners who come to China to learn Chinese.The study of pedagogics of TCSOL in the mainland focused on primary-level education,for example: how to teach Pinyin,Chinese characters,and how to develop students' communication skills.However,as the change of students' situation,“how to improve intermediate-level students' Chinese skills” is new task to all Chinese teachers.Professor Bai Jianhua is interested in this studying area.He insists to apply Theme-based teaching model to overcome this obstacle.But Pro.Bai's studying is mainly on curriculum arrangements,but does not involve the classroom teaching.Therefore,it is worthwhile to explore how to make full use of Theme-based teaching model to help develop students' ability of organizing a paragraph orally.Due to the significance of this teaching model,the research center of this paper is to introduce detailed steps and measures of Theme-based teaching model in classroom,for the purpose of develop intermediate-level students' ability of organizing paragraphs.This thesis firstly analyzes learners of the Chinese language who take participate in CET and CIB in two years,including their background,language level and common expression mistakes.And then it is engaged in introducing the conception and practical application of Theme-based teaching model.Following that,a teaching plan and a report of circumstances of classroom teaching are displayed and analyzed,for purpose of explaining detailed steps and measures with Theme-based teaching model through specific examples.At the end of this thesis,in order to analyze the development and limitation of the pedagogics in aspect of improving students' skills of organizing paragraphs,the author compares students' expressions at the beginning of a semester with that at the end of the semester,and interviews Chinese teachers' evaluations on Theme-based teaching model.
