Sun Yiqiang is a renowned modern Chinese composer. He integrated the western composition techniques with the national music culture,committed to continuous exploration and innovation. Dancing Grains and Dance of Spring are two of his representative piano work. The former,which was created in 1962, belongs to the musical works of "Seventeen Years' Period" of China. The latter one was created in 1980 under the background of "Reform and Opening-up Period". These two pieces of works with their strong national features and unique artistic appeal demonstrate Sun's deep understanding of western music's composition skills, as well as his inheritance and development of traditional Chinese music.The style and thought of the music work are deeply influenced by the times and national characteristics of the composer.
