Imagery is an essential element in Su Tong’s novels.His aesthetics ideal is image.Images with complicated meanings or decadent sentiment bring about bright personality characteristic and expand the novels’ space,which shows Su Tong’s writing the poetic feature and the beauty of artistic style.Some authors even call Su Tong’s novels "image novels" and name Su Tong’s writing style "imagism writing".The author tries to probe the narratable image world in Su Tong’s novels in the paper.There are four parts to analyze the creation of images in Su Tong’s novels:In the first part,the author concludes the image groups,such as the youngster and Xiang Chun Tree Street,Feng Yang Tree,Hong Fen females and transscend reality images,from the motives,discusses the images’ connotation and character,and taps the forming reasons,according to the spiritual core "Nan Fang".Su Tong’s novels focus on "Nan Fang",because it is the womb of Su Tong’s passions and structure his novels’ poetic space dimension.In the second part,relative images seem to be two sides on one thing due to image construction,which forms the dilemma and paradox in humanity.The paper reveals the humanity and disassembles the ethical relationship thoroughly.In the third part,based on the specific works,the author thinks there are three construction strategies of the images in Su Tong’s novels.First,a central image is set up to promote the development of the plots.Secondly,the text capacity and tension are extended by repeated setting.Thirdly,with the development of novels,the images also have unconscious turning,which give images metaphor meanings and add to more completed connotation.In the fourth part,focused on Su Tong’s novellas and long stories,the author deeply analyzes the logic relation among images and rheological phenomenon on creation.From the synchronic level,the series of aesthetic images are linked with clues from different levels and angles.Every image is not completely independent.There are different logic relations among them,which riches and complicates the image world in Su Tong’s novels.From the diachronic level,with the change on writing,the choice and construction on images present obvious linear change,apart from this,the breakthough in creation present different styles and features.The author tries further to discuss the characteristic and value of Su Tong’s image writing on Chinese contemporary literary circles,referring to motives and image groups,construction strategies of the images and the logic relation among images and rheological phenomenon on creation.
