Lu Xun, who was born on Sep. 25,1881 and died on Oct. 10,1936, is one of the most influential writers and thinkers in modern Chinese history, made a pioneering contribution in the May 4th New Culture Movement. His ethical thought did not form an independent system, but it has important research value. Lu Xun ’s family ethics thought has a unique background of the times, and has rich theoretical connotation.In present age, our society is in another complicated and ever-changing time, which old and new ideas alternately speedily, so that family ethics has undergone major changes, family ethics anomie phenomenon is also endless. In the new period, it has great realistic significance to analysis and evaluation of its family ethics and to explore the theoretical value and historical significance of it.The emergence of Lu Xun’s family ethics was influenced by the political, economic, cultural and personal life experiences at that time, and had its unique historical background and distinctive personal characteristics. Lu Xun’s family ethics owes much to such ideas as Chinese traditional culture, evolution theory, individualism and Marx doctrine, which is the starting point and logical premise for the study of family ethics. The main contents of Lu Xun’s family ethics include four aspects: individual liberation, liberation of children, liberation of women and view of marriage and love. Lu Xun’s family ethic enriched and developed modern Chinese family ethics while forming new family ethics, which is of great practical significance to build equal gender relations and to form a harmonious parent-child relationship in the period of social transformation.Although Lu Xun’s family ethics has shown great progress and profundity to a great extent, there are some limitations in his family ethics, The rebellious Lu Xun showed his adherence to tradition when he practiced his family ethics, and when Lu Xun introduced the theory of evolution into the field of ethics, he also had some theoretical flaws.
