The Design And Practice Of Solo Concerts

This paper studies the author's Tosti art song solo. voice recital which processes from preparation to realization, integrating with the author's actual experience of organizing and performing. Analyses and studies were conducted on these aspects, such as the meaning of organizing the solo concert by the students of Master of Arts and the importance of planning the recital in advance, early stage preparation, mid-term deployment and post-rehearsal.The study states a various concrete contents, which includes the selection of repertoire, the study of those repertoire, the observation of regular training and performing, collaboration with the accompanist, the arrangement of time schedule, guests, host, posters, programs, make-up,video recording, run-through of the programs before the recital and the psychological adjustment.Through this study,the author hopes to provide a clear plan and holistic exploration for all the related matters and every sector of the solo concert, so as to prepare well for a successful recital. Meanwhile, the paper also describes the author's perception and summation of the three-year graduate study.
