Franz Liszt(1811-1886)is a Hungarian composer and pianist,and known as the"King of the Piano".Also,he is one of the most influential musicians in the Romantic period.Liszt wrote a number of popular works,and the early main works are the piano pieces,like Etudes,Rhapsody,Sonata,Dance Music and Piano Transcription.The Piano Transcription is the perfect combination of technology creation.Liszt is an important representative of this form of piano,and he adapted the 42 opera works of the 14 composers into a piano piece.Faust Waltz is from the ending of the second scene of Gounod's Faust,and it's a dance music creation.The author found that much research is about the Liszt piano transcriptions,and there is only one article of "Faust waltz" after research.It provides the author a great space of the performance analysis of the piece.Author uses<Faust Waltz>as an example in this paper,and gives a brief analysis of the creation background and music ontology combing with the author's practical performance.The paper is respectively analyzed by the keys-touching,chord,octave and pedal to analyze techniques.Also,it is the innovation of this paper,which is a hope that more piano learners have a deep understanding of Liszt "Faust waltz".
