Qing Dynasty Imperial Fire Research

Using fire makes human beings end the day of occurrence and becomes an important mean of modifying the nature.However,fire may happen to place where people live in and threaten our safety.In the face of various harms brought by fire,human beings were once afraid of it.In that day,fire worship had being formed in people’s idea.With the development of technology and economy,knowledge to fire disaster enhanced.Instead of fear,people gradually found that fire could be controlled and taken advantage of.Looking into the past,people of all dynasties fight the fire.Learned from experience of former dynasty,the Qing Dynasty made progress about how to prevent and fight fire.In Qing Dynasty,the governors gave more attention to prevent and control conflagration,especially in the Forbidden City,for its great importance.This paper probed the situation when fire was occurred in palace of Qing Dynasty from three aspects.The first part of this article summarized fire disaster happened in the Forbidden City in Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.Combined with typical fire case analysis,the first part showed scene when fire happened in Qing Imperial Palace.It also told the background of the next paragraph.The second part discussed the Qing government’s legal related to fire and measures to prevent fire.It showed the firefighting system of the Qing government from different views.The last part discussed how the Qing Dynasty’s governors dealt with fire disasters and what influence had fire had on the Qing Dynasty.
