Jincheng Dialect Speech Research

This paper takes the ancient Jincheng County,which includes the urban area of Jincheng city and the Zezhou County now,as the research object,on the basis of“Chinese language resources survey database of Chinese dialects” to conduct the phonetic investigation.we investigate five regions,including the urban area of Jincheng city,and the towns of Jincun?Daiyang?Zhoucun?Lichuan.After that,we induce the phonetic system of the ancient Jincheng County,and discuss its phonetic features and historical evolution law by the way of descriptive method,synchronic comparison and diachronic comparison and so on.The details are as follows:The first part is the introduction.This part mainly introduces the history and achievements of phonetic study of Shanxi dialect,and inducing the phonetic study of Jincheng dialect about predecessors from two aspects which include area division of Jin dialect and the phonetic features.Meanwhile,we discuss its deficiency,such as internal speech differences of Jincheng dialect,the entering tone and so on.So,we can lay a solid foundation for the further study of phonetic features of Jincheng dialect.In addition,this part also introduces the geography,population and history of Jincheng,illustrating the study objective of this paper,the scope of investigation of Jincheng dialect,datas and means this paper needs.We introduce the personal information about local people who accept the investigation about Jincheng dialect.The first chapter takes the voices of urban area of Jincheng city as representative,describing its initials,vowels and tones and summarizing their characteristics according to our findings of surveying.And we depict the coordination about initials,vowels and tones by a form,and we induce that the internal speech differences of Jincheng dialect mainly reflect in the vowels.We generalize the phonetic differences of rhyme groups about Xie,Zhi,Xiao,Liu,Shen,Zhen,Zeng,Geng,Dang,Jiang,Tong by the comparation about voices of five regions,and analyzing the reason about it.Finally,we make a summary.The second chapter is the synchronic comparison of Jincheng dialect,including the comparison about initials,vowels and tones.The phonetic system takes the voices of urban area of Jincheng city as representative.First,we make a comparison between Jincheng dialect and mandarin.The conclusion is that the evolution of Jincheng dialect is similar with mandarin,but the Jincheng dialect exists vowels and tones of entering tone.Second,we make a comparison between Jincheng dialect and the dialects of neighbouring regions.This dialects of neighbouring regions include the Yangcheng dialect which belong to the dialect region named Hanxin,and the Gaoping dialect,Lingchuan dialect which belong to the dialect region named Shangdang.In initials,we analyse differences and similars about Yangcheng dialect,Gaoping dialect and Shangdang dialect.Including if the initials of Ni and Niang are confluent,thepronunciation of the group of Jing Zhi Zhuang Zhang,the combination and the division of the group of Jing Zhi Zhuang Zhang,the pronunciation of the group of Jian Xiao Ying.In vowels,the major vowels and the confluence of rhyme groups are different among Yangcheng,Gaoping and Lingchuan.In tones,the practical tone pitch and the combination of tone categories are diffrernt.We mainly analyse differences between Jincheng dialect and the dialects of neighbouring regions while making synchronic comparison to show the characteristics of Jincheng dialect comprehensively.Finally,we make a summary about this comparison.The third chapter is the diachronic comparison of Jincheng dialect,including the comparison about initials,vowels and tones,.The phonetic system also takes the voices of urban area of Jincheng city as representative.Our comparison objects include the represent of medieval phonetic system named “Guang Yun”,the represent of phonetic system of recent age named “Zhong Yuan Yin Yun”,Jincheng voice recorded in dialect vocabulary in “Zhong Guo Yin Yun Xue Yan Jiu” which wrote by Karlgren,Klas Bernhard Johannes as the represent of contemporary phonetic system.We discuss the history evolution and laws of initials,vowels and tones about Jincheng dialect from medieval to modern times by making this comparison.In initials,the number of consonants in Jincheng dialect is more and less.In vowels,we discuss the origin,differentiation and pronunciation about Yin rhyme,Yang rhyme and vowels of entering tone.In tones,the tone categories of Jincheng dialect evolves into Yinping,Yangpingshang,Qusheng and Rusheng from medieval to modern times.Finally,we make a summary.The fourth chapter is monographic study of Jincheng dialect,and mainly describes and analyses the phenomenon of Wenbaiyidu and Ziwei in Jincheng dialect.Firstly,the paper introduces the pronunciation of initials and vowels in Wenbaiyidu,and illustrating their characteristics.And we analyse the the causes of the formation of Wenbaiyidu in Jincheng dialect.When discussing the problem of “Ziwei” in Jincheng dialect,we review the current study of Ziwei in Shanxi dialect firstly,then depicting the pronunciation types of Ziwei in Jincheng dialect,we also analyse the features,grammatical functions and reasons of the formation of Ziwei in Jincheng dialect.Finally,we make a summary.The conclusion summarizes the characteristics and evolution of Jincheng dialect from the full text,emphasizing the innovation of this paper,pointing out the deficiencies.Meanwhile,we make a prospect on the research of Jincheng dialect.
