As an important part of foreign language teaching,reading ability has a vital effect on English learning performance.Based on theories of foreign language learning strategies and learning style,this study explores subjects' learning style preferences from perspectives of perception,cognition,affect and personality,reading strategies in dimensions of meta-cognitive,cognitive and social/affective strategies,and the correlation between them.Questionnaires and interview are employed as research instruments in current research with aim to figure out the correlation between the learning style and reading strategies of non-English major university students.Research subjects are 107 non-English major students from Tianjin Polytechnic University and 98 questionnaires are regarded as valid ones.The data was analyzed by Statistical Product and Service Solutions(SPSS 17.0)with functions of Descriptive Statistics,Independent Samples t-Test and Pearson Correlation Analysis.The research results show that reading strategies use is correlated with perceptual learning style,tolerance of ambiguity,and personality trend,but is incorrelated with cognitive learning style.
