The Tang Dynast(A.D.618-A.D.907)features diversification in many aspectssuch as culture,politics,economy,art,science,and life.The exchange andamalgamation of ethnic groups are extremely internationalized,providing goodchanges of horse images in frescos of the Tang Dynasty,causes from multipleaspects that give rise to the changes in these areas are discussed:historicalconditions,social background,humanistic factors,as well as the influence of suchaspects after development on later ages.In Chapter 1 of the paper,the background consisit of horse.in whichfrescos appear in the Tang Dynasty is discussed.1.The change and developmentof the horse images in the Tang Dynasty under the background of Buddhistculture.2.Images of horses In most cases,horses don’ appear in frescos alone.They are depicted as required to show in stories or as needed in paintings.Theimages of horses are affected by both subjective conditions and objectiveconditions.In Chapter 2,the social background is discussed.in which the images ofhorses change in the frescos of the Tang Dynasty.1.Grotto frescos under theinfluence of the Silk Road.2.Grotto frescos under the influence of Religion.3.Frescos in tomb chambers come into being for ancestor burial.In Chapter 3,the major changes of horse images in frescos of the TangDynasties are discussed:1.Change of ideology.Horses are personified and displaydifferent charm while accompanying people in the face of grave crisis between lifeand death and sharing weal or woe.2.The appreciation of the beauty of horseimages changes as influenced by many aspects such as politics,economy,andculture.3.Various service objects in the frescos.4.Changes in painting.In Chapter 4,the effect of horse images in frescos of the TangDynasties and its retroaction on society is discussed.Such effects derive frominheritance and experience learning.It also provides basics for painters of laterages to inherit and learn.In summary,the paper discusses the influence of change anddevelopment of horse images in the Tang Dynasty frescos on the horse images inpaintings of the Five Dynasties and Ten States,as well as the historic changesreflected in such changes.
