The Influence Of Ancient Greek Sculpture On Rubens' Painting

Greek sculpture is very prominent in the history of art,and its achievements are unique in history.It continues to influence the painting after the Renaissance in three levels of theme,aesthetic and spiritual connotation.This paper focuses on Rubens' life,artistic style,concrete works,and spiritual connotation,analysis of the influence of Greek sculpture of Rubens' painting,and by comparison with Jacob Jordaens,who had the same educational background but didn' t get to Italy,we can have a look at what kind of aesthetic feeling can Greek sculpture give a painter.
