Tintoretto is an important painter of Venice in sixteenth Century.He is regarded as an important representative of the Venice painting in art history.But Tintoretto showed very different personal style from Titian,Giorgione and Veronese as the representative of the typical Venice school.The breathtaking scenes and intense emotional transmission brought to the audience by Tintoretto’s paintings are a breakthrough of the high Renaissance style.By analyzing the representative works of Tintoretto,this paper points out the unique style of Tintoretto’s painting and analyzes the unique space and time expression of Tintoretto’s painting.Tintoretto displayed distorted spaces and perspectives in his works,and thus hinted at the change of time.The changing space and flowing time change the works from stillness to motion.The painter put the events that existed in the history again in front of the real audience.God came to the real scene again by painting,and the audience went through the real scenes of the painting.Tintoretto wanted to achieve the effect of the presence of the audience and God together in his painting.The effect of God’s presence with the artist agrees with the religious views of the mystical sects of Europe at that time.Through the study of religious reform in Europe in sixteenth Century and the belief in religious sects in Venice,this article will analyze the influence of religious reform behind Tintoretto’s painting.And through the study of Tintoretto’s life and social relations to prove this point of view,reveals Tintoretto’s unique style of painting behind the sixteenth Century Venice religious beliefs and religious reform issues.
