The Historical Process Of Typical Theory In China's Contemporary Marginalization

The typical theory is an important category of literary theory of classical Marxism,once regarded as the core of literary theory.Chinese scholars have been discussed repeatedly about the connotation of the typical theory,commonness and personality of the typical theory,typical environment and typical characters and other issues.However,with the change of the times,the typical theory in the new period has gradually lost the glory,no longer been taken seriously.Only a few scholars has researched on the issue of marginalization of the typical theory,but not deep enough.Combined with different periods of social and cultural context,this paper first explores the historical process of the typical theory in the history of China from the center to the edge in the way of historical research,and then analyzes and reflects the reasons for marginalization of the typical theory comprehensively,thus makes some new ideas on this complex theoretical issue.Apart from the introduction,this paper consists of three chapters.Chapter One: Western Origin and China 's early Acceptance of The Typical Theory.This chapter first explores the origin and development of the typical theory in the Western,researches on Aristotle 's creation of the typical theory,the medieval type says,Hegel 's exposition on personality and Marx,Engels' point of view about the typical theory.On the basis of these,it explores the early acceptance of the typical theory in China under the influence of the Soviet Union,thus laying a foundation for the further study of the process of marginalization of the typical theory.Chapter Two:Typical Theory in China: from Center to Edge.Scholars actively advocated the typical theory in1950 s,1960s,and carried out scientific and systematic constructions,so the central position of the typical theory was established.With the social environment changes,the typical theory began to be neglected in the late1980 s.Entering the 21 st century,few scholars have mentioned the theory again.From the point of view of the new viewpoints of literary theory and theoretical workers,the author established the dimensions of the study about the problem that typical theory moves from the center to the edge.Chapter Three:The Reasons and Reflections for Marginalization of The Typical Theory.Firstly,the external causes of marginalization of the the typical theory,due to the changing circumstances of the times,the ideological loose,multicultural construction,the influx of European and American literary thought,people thinking change,all impact on the typical theory;Secondly,the internal reason,the typical theory itself is not perfect with the political,closed,type,class,philosophical tendencies,scholars often ignore the literary image's ideological,aesthetic and artistic when using this theory for literary criticism;Thirdly,in the practice of writing,the typical theory has encountered difficulties and challenges.In the moment of the diversification of literary creation,the typical theory clearly lacks universality,the typical view which pursues objective essence can not show fragmented,fast-paced modern life and can not fully reveal the inner sense of oppression and absurdity.So when the writers write novels,they almost no longer use the typical theory as a guide.
