| Zhong Kui’s novels include the Zhongkui biography in Tang Dynasty written by an anonymous man of Ming Dynasty,the cutting evil biography written by Liu Zhang of Qing Dynasty and the killing evil biography written by Dongshan cloud Taoist of Qing Dynasty.This paper is divided into four parts:reasons for the creation and the changes and research on characters and artistic characteristics of Zhong Kui’s Novels.The article mainly discusses the creative motivation of the authors of Zhong Kui’s Novels and the differences and the causes of the versions and contents after comparing and the cultural implications of the characters and artistic characteristics.The first chapter studies reasons for the creation including three parts of legend and faith of Zhong Kui and the related literature of Zhong Kui before Ming Dynasty and the creative motivation of the authors of Zhong Kui’s Novels.The second chapter studies changes in the content of the plot including three parts of differences on changing out of objects and cutting ghost mode and intertextuality.The third chapter studies the implications of the characters including images of Zhong Kui and ghosts.Zhong Kui’s images study from two aspects of literati and secularization.The images of ghosts are discussed from two aspects of bogeys and goblins ghosts.The forth chapter studies artistic characteristics of Zhong Kui’s Novels including the typed of the Zhongkui biography in Tang Dynasty which reflects on three aspects of reincarnation and cutting ghosts and the immortal tests and travel through hell and satire skills which reflect on three aspects of cartoon characters creation and irony and innuendo and humorous language. |
