Narrative Research On The British Classic Children's TV Series "Mystery Doctor"

There has been more than half a century since the British sci-fi children's TV series Doctor Who has broadcasted in 1963,and now it has more than eight hundred sets.It records as the world's longest sci-fi series by the Guinness book of world,and won the British Academy of film awards,Saturn Award nominations etc.The reason that the enduring Doctor Who has such achievements has lots to do with its narrative content and narrative style of the unique characteristics and advantages.This paper mainly discusses the narrative theme,narrative structure,role of Scenario analysis of Doctor Who comprehensively and deeply,summarizing its useful part for learning about its narrative writing to get suggestions and strategies to improve the quality of our children's TV series scenario.This paper is divided into three parts,including the introduction,the main body and the conclusion.The introduction summarizes purpose,significance,innovation,contents,status of research,The first chapter is an overview of the history of Doctor Who's narrative,status and influence in the field of children's TV series all over the world to expound its narrative value.The second chapter is the analysis of the depth and humanity about expression of Doctor Who's theme,such as Utopia and Dystopia,War and Peace,Heroism and Anti-heroism,and so on.It also analyzes the themes' forms of expression.The third chapter studies the roles of Doctor Who.The role's main feature is the mirror image and variability.Besides,it analyzed the main characters,secondary characters,the changing of the characters and character chain.The fourth chapter analyzed the narrative structure of Doctor Who,mainly studies and summaries from the perspective of narrative time and space,and put forward innovations and differences between Doctor Who and the other children's TV series of narrative time and space.The last chapter takes the domestic children's TV show Happy Planet as an example to summarizes the defects of Chinese children's TV series text and DoctorWho's creation advantages which we can learn.Finally,in the aspect of the theory serving the practice,it provides the feasibility of improving the quality of local children's television content strategy,achieve the ultimate purpose of meet the Chinese children's spiritual and cultural needs.
