A Disrespected Writer, Duanmu Yanliang's Novel Research

DuanMu Hongliang is an important Northeast writers as well as Xiao Hong and Xiao Jun. He had produced many works,the remarkable thing is that the works DuanMu Hongliang wrote in different period had different style.But what makes me confused is that DuanMu Hongliang had been ignored for a long time.That is the reason why I choose this topic as my research writing.This paper tries to comb DuanMu Hongliang'works as a whole,analyses the writing features in different period and find the reasons lead to the change of style with his life experience which also a breakthrough point to discover why the research about DuanMu Hongliang had been ignored.The first chapter,the early stage of writing(1933-1941). Analysing the features of DuanMu Hongliang's works from texts:insisting on the creative ideas of life,pursing the grand epic narrative.In his works,the writer expressed his feeling bluntly, advocated the power of literature.The second chapter,the middle stage of writing(1942-1949). DuanMu Hongliang's works in the 1930s is obviously different from 1940s,not only quantity decrease but also aesthetic style.This moment DuanMu Hongliang began to turn inside,paid attention to the moral,critical thinking of works and changed writing techniques. DuanMu Hongliang's works style changed from "heavy?rough?grand"to"light?detail?micro"The third chapter,the late stage of writing(1949-1996).During the early period of the founding of the People's Republic of China, DuanMu Hongliang's main works were praising the new social.Shortly after he was implicated in a variety of political turmoil and had to accept cruel interrogates. For his own safety, he stopped the novel creation, mainly to created dramas, literary theories which met the requirements of political, so the value of the novels are not high.In 1978, through the cultural revolution,he was destroyed again by gravely ill,no longer was able to find new themes. What he could do is to dig subjects from familiar events and turn to A dream of red mansions and Caoxue Qin again. In more than 10 years of writing,long literary piece CaoXueQin was born. DuanMu Hongliang loved A dream of red mansions deeply and did much research on the artistic techniques.This chapter will interpret the artistic value art of CaoXueQin.The fourth chapter, I will try to solve the doubt why such a talented writer in mainland China was forgotten for a long time?I hope my research can contribute meager strength to the understanding of DuanMu Hongliang's literary value objectively.
