On The Comedy Of Yang Zhenguang's Novels

Yang Zhengguang entered the literary world an d engaged in literary creation since the eighties.He is known as one of the three assets in Shanxi,together with two other writers: Ping'ao Jia and Zhongshi Chen.However,th e research and critics for Zhengguang Yang's literary creation have been neglected,especial ly in the study of comic connotation of his works.This paper analyzed the comic features and aesthe tic presentation of Zhengguang Yang's novels.It aims to enhance the understa nding of high comedy in the modern times as well as correct the abu se of comedy in the cu rrent literatures.Moreover,it c alls for more valuable and meaningful comedy works on literature creation.This paper starts from the core concept of comedy to discuss the com edy and aesthetic presentation in Zhengguang Yang's novels from four parts.The first part analyzes the influence of Shanxi culture on Zhengguang Yang,where is his hometown.Additionally,it discusses the formation of comedy thinking and the comedy effect in his works based on the auth or's living environment,political background and life experience.Throughout,it points out the cultural creation and development of com edy in his novel creation.The second part deeply analyzes the com edic situation of Zhengguang Yang' s works by combining the lif e logic and ind ividual characteristics.It not only studies the author' s reflection and revelation on the absu rd state of life in the countryside,but also categories the representative comedy characters.By doing so,it analyzes the inner connotation of his novels.The third part analyzes the absurdity,sarcasm as well as the m ixture of sadness and laughter from the external features of co medy in Zhengguang Yang's novels.His works contain a strong sense of absurdity and sarcasm.It profoundly reveals the innermost world of traditional peasants in the countryside of China where under the deficien cy of both materials and spirits through coloring the sp ecific scenes and building liv ely characters.Moreover,the works express the co ncern of th e author on human beings.Overall,the com edy of Zhengguang Yang's novels will bring a certain impact on the readers' mind,which prompting people to reflect on the fundamental weaknesses after laughing and inspiring people 's pursuit of truth,kindness and beauty.The fourth part discusses the artistic individuality of Zhengguang Yang's novels.It compares the comedies of Zhengguang Yang's works to the contemporary novelists through the author's inheritance and development of the comedy spirit in the traditional local novels since the May Fourth Movement.It specially reveals Zhengguang Yang's unique artistic personality and the feelings of sym pathy for the p easants.Furthermore,it in terprets the sign ificance of Zhengguang Yang's comic character in the history of Chinese literature.
