Optimism was interested increasingly as a positive psychological quality. The version of positive psychology put forward by Seligman now encounters a lot of difficulties because of its hyperbole with romantic flavor and the reality of vulnerability. This paper is under the background of new positive psychology, through an intervention about the reality optimistic to improve the optimistic explanatory style and subjective Well-being, and also improve their optimism quality. We emphasize the reality optimistic, is refers to from the objective reality, both keep an optimistic attitude and not self-deception, draw and translated an positive power and potential from the negative. Junior high school is the important stage in life, the change of physical and mental and learning pressure, interpersonal and other factors makes the teenagers have more profound emotional experience, and bring them challenges at the same time. At this stage, they should not only through and adapt to the difficult time, but also learning how to cultivate good psychological quality, the psychological resilience, and the ability to have a more happy life. As a positive psychological quality, reality optimistic is a kind of effective internal support resources for the junior school students, it also has a great influence of their subjective well-being. The purpose of the study is to improve optimism quality and subjective well-being, provide some suggestions and reference, at the same time enrich the theory and practice field of optimism in our country. This research includes two parts:Study 1 is the investigation of optimism quality of the junior high school students. Participants were 301 students, all of them came from a middle school of Xi'an. They completed the Life Orientation Test-Revise, Child Attribution Style Questionnaire and Subjective Well-being Questionnaire. The conclusions were as following:1. There was no significant differences on grade and gender of their optimistic personality, optimistic explanatory style and subjective Well-being; 2. The optimistic personality, optimistic explanatory style and subjective Well-being were positively correlated with each other; 3.optimistic explanatory style has mediating effect between optimistic personality and subjective well-being.Study 2 was an intervention experiment about the reality optimistic.32 junior middle students were selected and divided into 2 group:the experimental group and the control group. After 9 times reality optimistic group counseling, we came to a conclusion:the intervention experiment has obtained the good effect, significant changes have taken place in the experimental group and the control group did not. The intervention experiment about the reality optimistic could improve the optimistic explanatory style of junior middle school students effectively, and also improve the optimism quality and subjective well-being.According to the conclusion, put forward the corresponding education advice: 1.the new positive psychology is more accord with the demand of real life, students' growth and development would be beneficial in the future if school mental health work can pay attention to the optimism by the group psychological counseling or psychology classes.2. The cultivation of the optimism is not only need the school mental health education work, but also need the subtle influence of society and their parents.
