The Preparation Of College Students' Mental Health Screening Questionnaire

To explore university students’psychological health condition, this study establishes the "Psychological screening inventory for university students" with the method of literature analysis, interviews, etc.320 students and 850 students as subjects were investigated by this inventory respectively. Psychological conditions of current university students are with the following feature.The main findings were as follows:(1) Psychological screening inventory has good theoretical idea, reliability and validity indicators, which could be used as a tool for the further research.(2) According to the percentage of the number of students got the higher dimension scores than average dimension score in total, the five dimensions can be line as:immature society, social alienation, anxiety, antisocial tendencies and value depressed. There has the most number of college students got the higher score in social immature than the average dimension scores among all five dimension, accounting for 50.94% of the total.(3) There are significant differences in the scale scores and total scores between different genders. Besides total scores, on social alienation, self-alienation, depression, immature disposition, immature thought, physiological and behavioral responses these 7 factors, males were also significantly lower than females. While on spiritual alienation, males were significantly higher than females.(4) On social alienation, immature social relationship, depression, emotional reaction, self-alienation, physiological reaction, behavior, immature personality, immature thought and depressed behavior these 10 factors, the arts students were significantly higher than the science students.(5) On the total scores, immature social relationship, depression, hostile to social public tendency, tendency to despise social rules, behavior reaction, immature thought, anti-social behavior tendency, depressed behavior these 8 factors there are significant difference between each grades students.(6) In this study the psychological conditions of both only child and non-only child didn’t show significant difference on total scores and each factors.(7)There were no significant difference between urban students and rural students no matter on the total scores or each factors.The main conclusions were as follows:(1) College students’ psychological problems especially their immature society is comparatively serious.(2) The university students’ psychological health condition reveals significant difference between different genders, grades and disciplines in these three aspects.(3) The university students’psychological health condition reveals no significant difference between urban students and rural students nor only child and non-only child.
