Language education programs,is one of the new planning categories that divided out on the basis of the traditional language status planning and language self-planning,the aim of using education means and educational measures of a language to expand the use of language groups.Chinese propagation in the United States,as an important part of Chinese propagation to the whole world,aims to diversify the methods of Chinese propagation and increase the learning interests of people who do not use Chinese as first language.Over the years,the achievements and positive impact on Chinese propagation in the United States,greatly contributed to enhance the international effect of Chinese language.Therefore,in order to build a bridge for economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries,we need to use Chinese language as medium and explore new propagation strategies on the basis of existing methods.The thesis is divided into eight sections:The introduction mainly introduces the background,purpose and significance of this topic,describing the theoretical basis of the study and research methods and allowing readers to understand the value of this article topic as a whole.The first chapter summarizes the research results and academic findings of some scholars.The second chapter describes the significance of Chinese language propagation from the perspectives of politics,economy,culture and values.The third chapter reviews the achievements of Chinese language propagation in the United States in different historical periods.The fourth chapter introduces the present situation of propagation of Chinese language in the United States via three perspectives: Chinese language education in the United States,Chinese language education in China and the traditional methods of spreading Chinese language.The fifth chapter focuses on the problems and issues to be noted in the propagation of Chinese language in the United States,there are: unstable relationship between China and the U.S.,lack of international Chinese teachers,small amount of schools having Chinese courses,lack of systematical textbook system and lack of assessment system on tests.The sixth chapter raises solutions to issues raised in last chapter: grasp the chances,explore new spreading methods,compile textbook reasonably,focusing on teaching in local style and emphasizing on enlarge the amount of Chinese international teachers.Conclusion summarizes discovery,and innovation of this paper pointed out deficiencies.
