| The present study examined that the differences between different types of word process by the theoretical analysis.As the representative of different things,the word can be put into the concreteness vocabulary and abstract vocabulary.The study on alphabetic writing found that the process of concreteness vocabulary faster than abstract vocabulary.Chinese has its own characteristics,there is a controversial ideas about whether there is concreteness effect,in particular,whether the speed of mastering vocabulary between different ages exist concreteness differences,whether the speed of development between different gender is same.This article focuses on that with the growth of the age,whether the development trend of concreteness vocabulary between different genders is different.Chinese two-character words were used as experimental materials.E-Prime used to present stimulus and recorded behavioral response data.Presentation methods are individual word presentation and sentence presentation.Our aim is to explore the difference of the concreteness effect processing of age,and gender.This study will be divided into two parts:under the condition of presenting single word,whether there is differences of concreteness effect between age and gender;under the condition of presenting sentence,whether there is differences of concreteness effect between age and gender.Experiment 1 employed presenting a single word to find the differences of concreteness effect between age and the differences between gender.Under the lexical decision task,treating the kind of word as the within subjects variable,grade and gender as the between subjects variable.Experiment design is belonging to the 2(the kind of word:the concreteness words,abstract words)×3(grade:2,4,6)×2(gender:male,female)three factors mixed experimental design.The results found that the main effect of vocabulary was significant,verify the existence of concreteness effect.The main effect of grade was significant,proved that vocabulary level increase because of increasing grade,the main effect between the gender was not significant.Results didn’t find that the interaction between vocabulary and grade,the interaction between vocabulary and gender.Results suggest that concreteness effect exist in Chinese vocabulary independent process.Experiment 2 tests under the condition of the sentence,the differences of concreteness effect between age and the differences between genders was investigated.Under the flow of the sentence judgment tasks,treating the kind of word as the within subjects variable,grade,gender as the between subjects variable.Experiment design is belonging to the 2(kind of word:the concreteness words,abstract words)x 3(grade:2,4,6)x 2(gender:male,female)three factors mixed experimental design.The results found that the main effect of vocabulary was significant,verify the concreteness effect still exists under the condition of the sentence.The main effect of grade was significant,proved that vocabulary level increase because of increasing grade,the main effect between the genders was significant.Results didn’t find that the interaction between vocabulary and grade,the interaction between vocabulary and gender.Results suggest that concreteness effect still exist in Chinese vocabulary sentence process.According to the above experimental results and analysis,we draw the following conclusions:(1)Chinese vocabulary exists concreteness effect,whether present a single word or sentence;(2)Age restrict the speed and quality of mastering vocabulary.(3)Obtaining vocabulary between different genders is different.(4)the advantage of concreteness has been in second grade.(5)our finding agree with dual-coding theory.Not for helping contextually effective model. |
