The Historical Evolution And Connotation Interpretation Of The Wolf Image In Modern And Contemporary Literature

From ancient times to the present day,the "wolf" image in the literature has gone through a process from tenuous to rich.In the traditional literature,the wolf was burdened with a bad reputation,which is a symbol of "malicious and Ungrateful".In the 20 th century,a series of works of Lu Xun’s used a deep and unique perspective to creat the wolf image,which achieved a preliminary change of this literary image.The wolf image has gotten a real sense of attention Since 1980 s.It has been characterized more than before.Some characteristics of the personality was endowed to it,and it always be a symbol of spirit.In 2012,Li Weiyi published a book called Return To The Wolves which wrote a real wolf who’s name is Green.In this thesis,I will analyse the wolf image in modern and contemporary literature.I will focus on the transformation and connotation of this literary image.Return To The Wolves and Return To The Wolves 2 shaped the wolf image well.They also expressed a good ecological thinking.I will analyse these Two aspects in following paper.In addition to the conclusion,this article is divided into four chapters.And the last two parts are more important.The introduction:Stating the present researchful situation of wolf image.The situation includes domestic research and abroad research.Then combing the past "Wolf" image in the literature.The first chapter: The preliminary change of wolf image in 20 thcentury.The wolf image had new interpretations which are created by Lun Xun in 20 th century.So,this chapter will analyse the wolf image in Lun Xun’s novels and discuss its nonnegative meanings.The second chapter: The constant change of wolf image since the eighties.The wolf image has disappeared for fifty years since 20 thcentury.It was back in the western literary works.The chapter will analyse the wolf image in different times.Then summarising its positive significance and negative directions.The third chapter: The important trends and the practical significance of wolf image.The wolf image is popular now.Because it reflects our real life and offers same warnings,such as ecological crisic,spiritual pollution,and marketization.The f chapter will talk about these issues think about the social value of wolf image.
