Russian-Chinese Translation Studies

Translation variation is a new theory about the translation phenomenon, and reference translation is the secondary category of the theory. It constitutes an interdependent whole with the other 11 kinds of translation methods according to some rules. That is the system of translation variation.Reference translation is a combination of complete translation/translation variation and reference. It is a translation variation strategy, which translator applies while writing articles, directly selects the required in foreign literature, and translates them into their articles for reference. In practice, reference translation is the integration of methods of complete translation, selective translation, edited translation, narrated translation, condensed translation and summarized translation, it can be called “translation strategy of translation methods”.However, the researches about reference translation are not rich and not quite systematic. Under the guidance of translation variation theory, the thesis researched the reference translation from its definition, units, methodologies, processes and locations, principles and functions by analyzing full and accurate illustrations. It aimed to clarify the connotation and denotation of reference translation, the methods, principles and functions, establish a more scientific and rigorous system of reference translation, then provide a methodology guidance for translation variation practice.
