Yangbanxi was the political and cultural phenomenon that can not be acrossed during the Cultural Revolution period.With the Cultural Revolution ended,Yangbanxi disappeared gradually.In the 1980 s,with China's ideological emancipation,Yangbanxi came back to people's vision,and formed a resurgence phenomenon.It experienced from strong praise in the period of the Cultural Revolution to the strong criticism subsequently about Yangbanxi evaluation.Hewever,the Cultural Revolution has ended 40 years,and the evaluation of the Yangbanxi is becoming more rational and diversified.The thesis is based on five representative modern Chinese opera scripts of Yangbanxi that formed in the earlier and later periods.In combination with stage creating,using present aesthetic experience to judge evaluation of the Yangbanxi,in order to find a scientific, comprehensive, historical evaluation criterion.On the basis of this understanding,from the perspective of form, thinking the beauty of the form and its noble revolutionary aesthetic ideas.Due to modern Chinese Beijing Opera takes a larger proportion in the Yangbanxi, this thesis will be targeted in the Yangbanxi of the form of Beijing Opera, the scripts that are representative in the Yangbanxi——Hongdengji,Zhiquweihushan,Shajiabang,Dujuanshan,Panshiwan are in the target.The one?s of ballet, and piano accompaniment will no longer be in the analysis.The thesis is divided into three chapters.In the first chapter, the background, the process and the establishment of final name of the Yangbanxi are sorted out, the time spans from opera modified movement at the end of the nineteenth Century until the Yangbanxi in 1970 s,the historical origin of the development of Yangbanxi is explored.The development status of Modern Peking Opera is introduced in detail during the Yanan period,and even before and after the founding of the PRC. Secondly,based on comparison of the concept of the form between China and Western,leads to the selection of Peking opera art form for Yangbanxi,analying the important position of Peking Opera that occupied in the Yangbanxi,explaining the meaning of the form of Peking Opera,and then launching the changing of Beijing opera form from Modern Peking opera to Yangbanxi.Based on five representative modern Chinese opera script of Yangbanxi,the second chapter mainly explores why Yangbanxi are still Beijing Opera, to what extent does the Yangbanxi inherite and develop the form of the Beijing opera.Ultimately,Yangbanxi is the modernization transformation about Beijing opera that treats Chinese traditional opera as the root,it has not been separated from the Chinese form features of traditional opera.The basic form features of Chinese traditional opera are rhythm, virtual reality and procedural.After making clear that,combining specific text,analying the innovation of Yangbanxi,exploring the method that how the Yangbanxi showed the life of modern people and shaped the proletarian heroes with Beijing opera. The third chapter is the core part of this thesis.In the first two chapters,the form's characteristics of Yangbanxi has been described in detail.Also based on scripts of Yangbanxi,the third chapter will express the meaningful form of the Yangbanxi further,trying to say how Peking Opera expressed aesthetic ideas,explore how the ideology was integrated into the Peking opera performances subtly,and made the audience feel lofty aesthetic experience in the unconscious.Firstly, from the perspective of Confucian thoughts of perfect,the thesis explains the kernel of Chinese traditional aesthetic idea that contains in Yangbanxi.The aim is to find the logical and reasonable cultural origins for Yangbanxi perfectly.The aesthetic concept of the Yangbanxi is to add the kindness and beauty into the revolution theme,which changes the traditional opera graceful feeling to sublime ones; Secondly,by the way of using mode of film art transmission and metaphor and symbol rhetoric,the magnificent is enlarged in the Yangbanxi.When the audience see the Yangbanxi,they can also feel the aesthetic experience strongly.Finally,because of the the lofty aesthetic idea of revolution was imposed excessivly,people produced reverse psychology.At the end of this thesis, as the development of Beijing Opera has entered a new stage today,the writer trys to make some reasonable suggestions for the development of the Beijing Opera.
