Research On The Dispute Between Ancient And Modern In Western Literary Theory

In this paper, it is the first time to combine the disputation on the ancient and modern with modernization. The focusing issues and deep buried reasons of the disputation on the ancient and modern are reviewed through the progress of modernization. This article is divided into three chapters respectively focusing on different objects. The first chapter discusses the relation between the disputation during Renaissance and the embryo of modernization. The second chapter focuses on the relation between the disputation in the 17th century and political modernity. And the third chapter concentrates on logical relation between disputation in the eighteenth century and enlightenment modernity. Through these disputations on the relation between the ancient and modern in three historical periods, it is reflected that the disputation possesses unique characteristics in different time era. While analyzing and understanding the disputation profoundly in the background of modern transformation, we can experience the charm of collision on the thoughts of literary theory.
