Objective:To study the comparison between press needle and acupuncture treatment on the clinical efficacy of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD),discuss the effects of the two different needle treatment, along with their relative advantages and disadvantages.Methods:54 patients with GERD were included in this study. They were randomly divided into two groups by random figure table method, namely the Press needle group(PNG)consisting of 24 cases,Acupuncture needle group(ANG)consisting of 30 cases.Sterile "QINGLING" press needle for single use 0.20*1.5mm was used for PNG,Sterile"Guizhou ANDE Brand" acupuncture needle for single use 0.25*4.0mm was used for ANG.Acupuncture points selected:Zhongwan(RN12),Zusanli(ST36)(bilateral),Gongsun(SP4)(bilateral),Neiguan(PC6)(bilateral).Adding Taichong(LR3)(bilateral)for liver-stomach heat retention type;Yanglingquan(GB34)(bilateral)for gallbladder heat invading stomach type.Treatment is conducted 2 times a week, for a total of 1 months. For all the cases before and after treatment,Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire(GRED Q),Reflux Disease Questionnaire(RDQ)and TCM Syndrome Scale were carried out to observe the changes of the above indicators, and SPSS20.0 was used for statistical analysis of the data. Results:Clinical and syndrome efficacy:The score of RDQ in the two groups before and after treatment was P<0.05,showing significant difference. While overall scores after treatment was P>0.05,indicating the results were not statistically significant. This shows that the two groups are both effective in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. The score of Gerd Q in the two groups before and after treatment was P<0.05,showing significant difference. While overall scores after treatment was P>0.05,indicating the results were not statistically significant. This shows that the two groups are both effective in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.Comparison of main symptoms of traditional Chinese Medicine of the two groups of patients before and after treatment, was P<0.05,showing significant differences.Comparison of main symptoms of traditional Chinese Medicine of the two groups of patients after treatment, was P>0.05,indicating that press needle and acupuncture needle can improve the main symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, and the therapeutic effect is similar.Overall efficacy evaluation:The total effective rate of the two groups after treatment:the press needle group was 100%,the needle group was 100%,P>0.05,showing no significant difference, indicating that the two groups could be effective in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, with similar treatment effect.Curative effect of individual symptoms:The symptom score for both groups were P<0.05 before and after treatment, showing significant differences. Both groups on the total efficiency of treatment of heartburn,PNG(95.83%),ANG(93.33%),P>0.05,shows no significant difference. Both groups on the total efficiency of treatment of acid reflux,PNG(95.83%),ANG(93.33%),P>0.05,shows no significant difference. Both groups on the total efficiency of treatment of retrosternal discomfort,PNG(91.66%),ANG(86.66%),P>0.05,shows no significant difference. Both groups on the total efficiency of treatment of belching reflux,PNG(95.83%),ANG(93.33%),P>0.05,shows no significant difference. The results indicate that PNG and ANG are both able to improve symptoms of heartburn, acid reflux, retrosternal discomfort and belching reflux symptoms, with similar curative efficacy. Both groups on the total efficiency of treatment of throat discomfort,PNG(95.83%),ANG(93.33%),(P<0.05),shows significant difference. The results indicate that both groups were able to improve the symptoms of throat discomfort, with the PNG having better curative effect compared to the ANG.Conclusion:The press needle and acupuncture needle treatment of GERD are both effective treatment methods, showing similar curative effect. On the comparison of the individual symptoms of GERD,the press needle and acupuncture needle treatment are both able to improve acid reflux, heartburn and retrosternal discomfort, belching reflux symptoms, with similar curative effect.Press needle and acupuncture needle treatment are both able to improve GERD throat discomfort symptoms,in which the curative effect of PNG is better than ANG.
