| ObjectiveIn this study,acupuncture was used to observe the clinical effects of abdominal acupoints on insomnia and the improvement of TCM syndromes,and to evaluate abdominal acupoints as the main treatment for insomnia.MethodsThis study strictly selected patients who met the inclusion criteria based on the medical diagnostic criteria for insomnia,TCM diagnostic criteria,and syndrome diagnostic criteria.Acupoints:The main points:Zhongwuan Guanyuan Tianshu Daheng Taiyi Huaroumen Daling Sanyinjiao Yintang Shenjing.Distribution points:heart and spleen deficiency syndrome plus Zusanli,Neiguan;fire excess from yin deficiency syndrome plus Taixi,Yongquan;fire derived from stagnation of liver-qi syndrome plus Hegu,Taichong;timidity due to deficiency of heart qi syndrome plus qiu Xu,Yanglingquan;syndrome of phlegm-heat attacking internally Infringement plus fenglong,neiting.Practice methods:The patient took a supine position,fully exposed the site of acupuncture,and applied 75%alcohol to conventionally sterilized the needle site and the physician’s hands.Choose Guizhou Andy brand disposable acupuncture needle,the Yintang and Shenting points were selected to be 0.25x25mm needles.The Yintang was oriented toward the tip of the nose,and the divine direction was directed toward Baihui.The needle was inserted into the flat needle and the needle was inserted at approximately 0.5 inch.Select 0.25×40mm needles for abdomen and limb points,pierce the needles,and insert 0.5 to 1 inch depth.All acupoints have gas retention needles,use mild reinforcing and attenuating method.Red light was applied to the abdomen and the needle was left for 25 minutes.Treatment time:3 times a week,continuous treatment for 4 weeks,a total of 12 times.Observation indexes and evaluation time points:Take total sleep time,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),TCM symptom integral scale as the observation index,record and evaluate patients before treatment,1 week of treatment,2 weeks,3 weeks,and 4 weeks treatments.Weekly changes in the above-mentioned indicators were compared between 2 weeks of treatment and before,4 weeks and 2 weeks.Record patient shedding and adverse events.Results1.Overall efficacy:The total effective rate was 70.27%for 2 weeks,and the total effective rate was 89.19%for 4 weeks.The total effective rate for 4 weeks was significantly higher than that for 2 weeks(p=0.00<0.01).2.Comparison of PSQI scores before and after treatment:(1)Comparison of PSQI population scores:The PSQI score was lower than before treatment at 2 weeks,and the difference was statistically significant(p=0.00<0.01).The PSQI score was lower than the treatment for 2 weeks after 4 weeks and the difference was statistically significant(p=0.00<0.01).(2)Comparison of PSQI scores:PSQI scores were lower than before treatment in 2 weeks,and p values were all less than 0.05,and the differences were statistically significant.Sleep quality,sleep time,sleep efficiency,sleep disturbance,and daytime dysfunction were statistically significant(p<0.01).Compared with the PSQI scores at 4 weeks,the sleep quality,sleep time,sleep time and daytime dysfunction scores were all lower than those of 2 weeks.The p values were all less than 0.05,and the difference was statistically significant.There was no significant decrease in 2 weeks,and the p values were all greater than 0.05.The difference was not statistically significant.3.Changes in TCM symptom scores before and after treatment:(1)Changes in overall scores:TCM symptom scores were lower than before treatment in 2 weeks of treatment,and p=0.00<0.01.The difference was statistically significant;TCM symptom scores were lower than 2 weeks after treatment in 4 weeks p=0.00<0.01,the difference was statistically significant.(2)Comparison between syndromes:Before and 2 weeks of treatment,TCM symptom scores were basically the same among the syndromes,and the p-values were all greater than 0.05,and the difference was not statistically significant.The distribution of TCM symptom scores in each syndrome was significantly different after 4 weeks of treatment,p=0.00<0.01,the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion1.Acupuncture on abdominal points can effectively improve the patient’s overall sleep status,improve sleep quality,shorten sleep latency,improve sleep efficiency,and improve daytime functions.Among them,improve sleep quality,prolong sleep time,and improve daytime functions are Significant effect;2.Acupuncture on abdominal points can effectively improve the symptoms of TCM in insomnia patients. |
