The effect of millet on fasting blood glucose, health and vitality of mice with hyperglycemia was studied by adding different proportion of millet to basic feed and rice. The results showed that: 1.The addition of different proportions of millet or rice into the basal diet fed mice with high blood glucose had no effect on feed intake and body weight.2.Millet instead of a part of the basic feed could significantly inhibit the high blood glucose of added rice, high blood glucose in mice blood glucose increase more and more. When the ratio of rice reached 80%,the fasting blood glucose of mice increased by 23.7%.3.The treatment of hyperglycemic mice by insulin, with 80 % proportion of millet instead of basic feed, could significantly improve the efficacy. After 30 days, the fasting blood glucose level of the mice fed the basal diet was increased by 5.2%,while that of the experimental group fed millet only increased by 2.7%.4.Mice were fed with feed millet,a good mental state, normal diet, bright fur, work and rest on time, flexible action;mental state of mice fed diets containing different proportions of rice was poor, lethargy, sparse fur and tarnish, among them,20%,40% the proportion of rice group depilation slightly;60%,80% the proportion of rice group had serious fur loss, back and abdomen were healing blood clot;fed basic feed or adding different proportion in basal diet of rice, there is death in mice, which is the basis of feed group was 40%,80% of rice group was 50%,while all the millet mortality rate was 0.The results showed that: Adding a certain proportion of millet in the basal diet, can significantly improve the health status of diabetic mice, maintain normal vitality;add in rice based diet, high blood sugar in mice is not in good health, vitality decline.5.Compared the basic feed group with 80 % millet instead of basic feed,no difference was found in the glucose tolerance of mice within 30 days.
