Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum IgA/C3 ratio and clinical indexes in patients with IgA nephropathy. Methods: Retrospective analysis 319 patients with IgA nephropathy diagnosed by renal biopsy during hospitalization In January 2010 to December 2015, the patients with IgA nephropathy were divided into two groups according to the cut-off point of serum IgA/C3 ratio is 3.32, at the same time analysis the association of serum IgA/C3 ratio with clinical indicators, make description of the statistical analysis. Serum IgA/C3 as the dependent variable, the other clinical indicators as independent variable, make multiple linear regression analysis.Results:1. There were 319 IgA nephropathy Patients with a mean age of 34.37±12.38 years enrolled in the study, 60.5.% of those was aged btween 20 to 40 years old. Serum IgA, IgA/C3 levels increased with the increase of age, serum IgA/C3 ratio in adult patients with IgA nephropathy higher than those patients under age 18 (P<0.05).2. Serum C3 in CKD2-3 period patients higher than CKD5 period patients, respectively (P<0.05).3. In the Patients with IgA nephropathy, B group (serum IgA/C3 ratio >3.32) with the higher 25-dihydroxy vitamin D3, serum globin, IgG and lower BMI, total cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein than the A group (serum IgA/C3 ratio < 3.32), respectively (P<0.05).4. Single factor correlation analysis show that serum IgA/C3 ratio was positively correlated with age, serum 25-dihydroxy vitamin D3, serum albumin and serum globin; serum IgA/C3 ratio was negatively correlated with total cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein.5. Multivariate liner regress analysis show that serum albumin (t=-3.082,P=0.002) and serum 25-dihydroxy vitamin D3 (t=2.318, P=0.022) were independent factors for serum IgA/C3 ratio.Conclusion:1. The serum IgA/C3 ratio was positively correlated with age.2. Serum 25-dihydroxy vitamin D3 was an independent factors for serum IgA/C3 ratio, the higher serum 25-dihydroxy vitamin D3, the higher serum IgA/C3 ratio.3. The serum IgA/C3 ratio was correlated with total cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein in patients with IgA nephropathy, the lower total cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein and low-density, the higher serum IgA/C3 ratio. Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum IgA/C3 ratio and.pathological indexes in patients with IgA nephropathy. Methods: Inclusion criteria and data collection were the same as part one.Kidney biopsy findings using the Oxford classification, included the mesangialhypercellularity (M), endocapillary hypercellularity (E), segmental sclerosis (S)and tubular atrophy/interstitial fibrosis (T); MEST score calculated as the sum of M+E+S+T ranging from 0 to 3; Compared the serum IgA/C3 ratio in each pathological groups.Results:1. Serum IgA/C3 ratio were higher in patients with T2 compared with TO and T1 (P=0.007); there were no statistical differences in the MO and M1, EO and E1, SO and S1, respectively (P>0.05).2. There were no statistical differences in the each MEST score groups(P>0.05).3. Serum IgA/C3 ratio were significantly higher in patients with strong intensity of IgA fluorescence compared with weak intensity (P=0.018); Serum IgA/C3 ratio were significantly higher in patients with strong intensity of C3 fluorescence compared with weak intensity and without C3 fluorescence.4. Single factor correlation analysis show that the IgA immune fluorescence intensity in glomerular mesangial was positive correlated with serum IgA/C3 ratio and serum IgA ; the C3 immune fluorescence intensity in glomerular mesangial was positive correlated with serum IgA/C3 ratio and serum IgA was negatively correlated with serum C3.Conclusion:1. The serum IgA/C3 ratio increased in patients with IgA nephropathy could reflect the severity of lesions found in tubular atrophy or interstitial fibrosis.2.. The serum IgA/C3 ratio could reflect the degree of glomerular mesangial IgA deposition, the higher serum IgA/C3 ratio, the more severe of mesangial IgA and C3 deposition.
