Pteris wallichiana used as Chinese herbal medicine for a long history.Russula aruea is a conditional edible fungi.This dissertation is comprise of three chapters,in which the chemical and bioactive constituents of two plants,Pteris wallichiana and Russula aruea,have been phytochemically studied.A total of 30 compounds,including 2 new ones,were isolated from these species.The types of compounds involved sesquiterpenes,phytosterols,flavonoids,lignans and so on.Their structures were established on the basis of extensive spectroscopic methods and the X-ray diffraction analysis.The new compounds are all sesquiterpenes.(1)A chemical investigation on Pteris wallichiana led to isolation and identification of 18 compounds.The structures of all compounds were identified by modern spectroscopic analysis.Compound 1 is a new sesquiterpenoid.Compounds 2,3,5 and 7-17 are first time reported from the title plant.(2)A chemical investigation on Russula aruea led to isolation and identification of 12 compounds.The structures of all compounds were identified by modern spectroscopic analysis.Compound 1 is a new sesquiterpenoid.All compounds are first time reported from the title fungi.(3)All of the sesquiterpenoids were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against five human cancer cell lines.However,none of the sesquiterpenoids were cytotoxic.
