Effect Of Ba Duan Jin On Lung Function And Blood Gas In Patients With Stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Objective To discuss the impacts of Baduanjin Qigong on lung function in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease?COPD?patients at stable stages.Methods Sixty-three patients who were Stage?COPD from Respiratory Department Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Linyi were randomly divided into a Baduanjin Qigong group?32 cases? and a regular group?31 cases?. In the regular group,conventional medication treatment and health education were applied. In the Baduanjin Qigong group,Baduanjin Qigong were extra applied besides conventional medication treatment and health education. Baduanjin qigong was practiced once on daily morning,30 minutes each time,more than four times a week,lasting for 180 days. Before the test,patients were trained by a special coach and only got qualified can the patients be divided into the group. During the test,patients were required to record activity diary every day.At the same time,the patients were regularly followed up by the outpatient service,wechat software or telephone. The changes of the clinical efficacy,pulmonary function and blood gas analysis were recorded and analyzed before the intervention,90 days and180 days after intervention.Results The clinical efficacy,lung function and blood gas analysis of two groups after intervention were much better than the conventional group?P < 0.05?,with statistical significance. PaO₂ in the Baduanjin Qigong group was significantly higher than the the regular group,and PaCO₂ in the Baduanjin Qigong group was significantly lower than the the regular group?P < 0.05?,with statistical significance.Conclusions The Baduanjin Qigong can effectively improves lung function and blood gas analysis index and clinical efficacy,Slow down the rate of lung function decline and thus improve patient rehabilitation effect.
