With the change of the market and the development of the technology,the domestic automobile industry is in an urgent stage to make the manufacturing transformation.Confronting this challenge,SMD,a wheel manufacturer,is demanding for upgrading its production system.Based on the wheel production system's analysis,constructing an information acquisition and processing system to help realize the smart manufacturing control and the production management's informatization.Then designing the system's business model and its overall architecture.The information acquisition system's layout and structure were designed.Its components were selected based on experiments.Then the information-processing model was constructed by analyzing characteristics of the wheel production system.According to 'Information Element' theory,the information processing mechanism was designed and the production information structure was well defined.Wheel images were collected using machine vision technology and then serial numbers were recognized by image processing.The image processing was as follows:firstly,the outside circular wing of the wheel was cut out;then the ROI(Reigion of Interest)was located and narrowd by twice target locating method;afterwards,the ROI was rotated and serial numbers were extracted based on multi-feature analysis;finally,serial numbers were recognized using MLP neutral network method.Finally,the database and the software architecture for an Information Acquisition and Processing System oriented to wheel production were designed.Then key modules of the prototype software were programed using C#.NET.
