Rail corrugations is a typical rail geometry failure in urban rail transit and even the whole railway industry.Rail corrugation is a source of noise and vibration for the surrounding neighborhood and passengers.It reduces the lifetime of both wheels and rails but also of other components of tracks and bogie.In recent years,scholars and railway operators are more attention to the rail corrugation.This paper will propose a method which based on wavelet packet energy entropy to detect the rail corrugation,and do some filed test to verify the feasibility of the method.Firstly,the basic principle of detection of rail corrugation are introduced,as well as the mechanism and physical fitting model of rail corrugation and the train.Theoretical derivation is made to discuss the possibility of detecting the rail corrugation of using the axle box vibration signals.Secondly,the multi-body dynamics software SIMPACK has been introduced,and then a coupling dynamics model of vehicle-track interactions based on SIMPACK is been developed.In order to verification the correctness of the model,a section of track irregularity has been set by using tre file in SIMPACK.The results show that the axle box vertical vibration can reflect the information of rail corrugation.Thirdly,an online detection of rail corrugation using wavelet packet energy entropy is proposed.Eighteen experimental lines with different rail corrugation have been set up in SIMPACK.Then different acceleration signals of the eighteen experimental lines have been collected.The wavelet packet energy entropy of the signals are calculated.The results show that the energy entropy can detect the rail corrugation and it also can reflect the fault condition.So,the threshold has been determined from the simulation results.In order to further determined the rail corrugation fault size,time-frequency diagram based on wavelet packet has been shown in the paper.The results show that this method can determine the location and the wavelength of rail corrugation.Finally,an online detection system of rail corrugation based on wavelet packet energy entropy has been designed.The system overall design,hardware part and software part are introduced in this section.The actual signal collected by this system proved the efficiency of the proposed method...
