Integrated automation of production field has become the development direction of the current power industry, "Unmanned" "Cascade scheduling" are the inevitable trend of current development. As regard to Yuzixi hydropower station, especially after 5.12 earthquake and large debris flow disaster, the monitoring system turn out to be in lower compatibility, lower accuracy of water supply unite and oil pressure monitoring accuracy, and high rate of false alarm. In addition, it came up with other problems such as part of the monitoring function can not be achieved, the effect of unit speed regulation is poor, and ball valve, high/low pressure gas machine monitoring are lack. Because of the simultaneous operation of the old and new equipment, the serious operation condition. If the monitoring system can't detect and exclude the above fault, it will not only increase the burden of operating personnel, but also affect the normal operation of the hydropower station and even lead to serious personal and equipment safety accidents. According to the actual situation of the hydropower station, taking investment cost and operation level factors into consideration, this paper proposed an upgrade scheme on the basis of the original system for the sake of achieving matching optimization of monitoring system and improving the accuracy of monitoring.First of all, according to the situation of Yuzixi hydropower station, this paper put forward a reconstruction scheme of monitoring system with distributed structure. Meanwhile, through analyzing the requirement for monitoring function of the hydropower station layer and field control layer (such as system communication, human computer interface, safe operation and monitoring, etc.), this paper designed a reconstruction scheme of plant layer and field layer, completed the station local control layer hardware selection task. By analyzing the advantage and disadvantage of double star and double ring network scheme which were commonly used in modern hydropower station, this paper designed a network reconstruction scheme of double star structure and completed the network construction work.Secondly, through the analysis of problems such as monitoring deficiencies and the higher false alarm rate occurred in leakage/repair drainage device, hydraulic valve device and high/low pressure gas machine monitoring device, In regard of the above problems, this paper complete reconstruction and selection work of the measuring transmission reconstruction of these devices. In addition, according to the parameters of governor oil pressure, high/low pressure tank pressure, unit bearing temperature, this paper complete the connection reconstruction work of measurement equipment and LCU(Local Control Unit).Then, for the reason that the Yuzixi hydropower station unit speed control effect was not ideal, the adjusting accuracy was low, through the analysis of the structure?working process and dynamic/static characteristics this paper established a mathematical model of hydro turbine regulating system?diversion system?generator governor and turbine basing on Simulink. On the ground of the designed dynamic/static, water test for hydro turbine regulating system, this paper collected the test data by field test. By comparing the results of field test and simulation analysis, it illustrate that the regulation effect of the model was superior to that of the original equipment.Through the upgrade and reconstruction of the system, after a trial run, the Yuzixi hydropower Station indexes reached or exceeded the level of the original design, the monitoring system operated stably. Moreover, the monitoring scope and efficiency improved, and the system false alarm rate decreased. The system can be used for reference in the design of "Unattended" monitoring system for the same type of high head middle and small hydropower stations.
