The copper(Cu)nanoparticles are one of the most important conductive metal filler,it has been applied in many fields such as lubricate oil,catalysis,conductive material and so on due to their particular nano-sized physical and chemical properties.Epoxy resin(EP)is one of the most widely used thermosetting resins.It has excellent mechanical strength,adhesion property,insulation property and low shrinkage.Therefore,EP plays the important roles in many areas,such as coatings,adhesivesand composites.However,it has great brittleness and low heat-resistance in the curing state.In this research,the copper nanoparticles were prepared by the method of reduction in aqueous solution using hydrazine hydrate as reducer.The structure,particle size and surface profile of the copper nanoparticles were discussed.The copper nanoparticles were dispersed in EP by a mew method of emulsifying machine,and the influence of nano-Cu content on integrated performance of nano-Cu/EP composites was investigated.The copper nanoparticles were prepared by the method of reduction in aqueous solution using hydrazine hydrate as reducer,during the reaction N2 was produced by hydrazine which can prevent oxidation of nano-Cu,the morphology and size of copper nanoparticles can be controlled by Polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)effectively,and can prevent the copper nanoparticles from tending to agglomerate.Utilizing in situ polymerization,nano-Cu/EP composites with different nano-Cu content was prepared.The study of morphology and properties of composites shows certain content of nano-Cu can highly homogeneous dispersed in EP.The glass transition temperature(Tg),strength,toughness,hardness and heat-resistance of nano-Cu/EP composites are improved,because of interaction between nano-Cu and EP.Compared to the neat epoxy system,composites prepared with 25 wt%nano-Cu showed 20 ? rise in Tg.The tensile strength of composites reach maximum of 49.840 MPa and increase 46%compared to the neat epoxy system with 8 wt%nano-Cu.The elastic modulus of composites reach maximum of 1697.242 MPa and increase 111%compared to the neat epoxy system with 8 wt%nano-Cu.The impact strength of composites reach maximum of 12.67 KJ/m2 and increase 90%compared to the neat epoxy system with 2 wt%nano-Cu.The hardness of composites reach maximum of 85.55°and increase 4%compared to the neat epoxy system with 30 wt%nano-Cu.
