Family is the basic unit and form for living, where everyone realizes role transformation and development. Every member in family exercises his responsibilities each other, home economics has become a main method of maintaining operation of the entire family. In the lower socioeconomic time, home affairs were undertaken by family members. As the society develops, female employment rate rises, the role between family and society is more and more evident; the development of society makes people pursue high-quality of living standards; meanwhile, because of the arrival of the aging society and one-child policy in China, leaving family pension faces great challenges; what's more, parents place much emphasis on children education and so on. Therefore, all of these warn us focus on home economics education and household service trade in order to meet an urgent need. As we all known, vocational education is considered as the best way to cultivating home economics talents. Nowadays, on account of historic reasons, home economics education develops slowly, and home economics talents is scarce in China. On the contrary, Britain, as a developed country, has accumulated a wealth of experience in home economics. In consequence, this paper gives a systematic study of British home economics education, so as to provide reference for Chinese home economics education development and home economics cultivation.This paper mainly uses the literature analysis method and the case analysis method, it discusses and analyses systematically the historic development, implementation situation and other issues of British home economics education, in order to help us have a comprehensive understanding for British home economics education. This paper includes following six aspects.Chapter One:The first part is research introduction, including study cause and meaning, research methods and ideas, core concepts, innovation and insufficiency. Besides, it summarizes research conditions of experts at home and abroad.Chapter Two:It deeply probes into theory of home economics education form multi-perspective view. Then the meanings of home economics are explained, such as improving living quality, enhancing population quality and improving female employment.Chapter Three:It combs the historic development of British home economics, which is divides into three stages-- embryonic period, independence period and specification development period. The cultivation of domestic talents was conducted by apprenticeships and a small amount of vocational education school with characteristics of poor relief in embryonic period; In independence period, special home economics education institutions appeared, and home economics curriculum gradually was diversified. In specification development period, Britain established home economics national qualification certificates of technical personnel system. It evidently shows that each stage has a close contact with British social development.Chapter Four:It elaborates on the current situation of British home economics, like policies and systems, enforcement institutions, mayor and curriculum arrangement, instrument mode and evaluation system.Chapter Five:This part takes two colleges--Norland College and Newcastle College as cases, and deeply discusses the British home economics enforcement based on the study of these two colleges, in order to understand the features of British home economics and provide reference for Chinese home economics education development.Chapter Six:This part is enlightenment. On the basis of introduction of British home economics, it is necessary to explore the routes of Chinese home economics education development, which mainly includes seven aspects-to insist objective of talents training of family service, provide curriculums for different groups, improve practice ability of cooperative teaching, stress work-based learning process, adhere to competence-based concept and assessment, establish Students' employment guidance system, and strengthen the construction of domestic culture.
