In wake of the constant changing of the design phenomena under the functions of the modern fabrication and consumer culture. The life cycles of the new things tend to be shorter and most of them feature ephemerality; their flourishing and fading are so quick that people find it hard to cope with them. Therefore, this gives rise to the pondering on the design adaptabilities; which factors pose challenges'to the design adaptabilities? What kinds of designs feature adaptabilities? While doing the redesigns, how can the "appropriateness" and "extent" be grasped. Based on the concerns on the design phenomena in the daily living and culture, the research subject is established as the Gongfu tea system of Chaoshan region which features unique characteristics. As a distinctive way of tasting tea in Chaoshan region, Gongfu tea has had a long history, and after it has experienced the process of long-term development, its system still manifests the "vitality", and the system design has gradually become a symbol of regional culture during the process of fusion with the local culture. The Chaoshan Gongfu tea system includes ware design and formula designs. Therefore, the research on the Gongfu tea system is actually a research of a kind of design phenomenon and design culture. The inheritance and development of the Chinese traditional tea culture by Chaoshan Gongfu tea, and the status of existence of conducting of redesigns in combination with the local culture, as well as a series of transformations that are conducted under the enhancement of such a variety of aspects as historical environment and economy and society all manifest the adaptabilities to the social environment and epic changes, and the design and application phenomenon of itself is a manifestation of the adaptability of the design behaviors as well as stability; meanwhile it is also a process of the mutual adaptabilities between the people and the materials. With reference to the analysis of some of the traditional design methods and principles of the ancients, this paper explores the stability elements and the adaptable design modes in the designs of the Chaoshan Gongfu tea, and proposes the thought of design should "make adaptabilities according to the contexts" so as to discuss the general regularities and design methods of the adaptability designs.
