Currently, there are still quantities of high energy consumption equipment in the natural gas industry, causing great resource waste. Therefore, it is crucial to recovery the afterheat generated by the equipment.Taking the afterheat recovery from the exhaust manifold of the ZWF1250-FS602/1 gad compressor engine of the Jianwei LNG Plant, PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gasfield for example, two tentative designs were made for the project. After comparing the economic effectiveness, the final plan is that incease a heat exchanger instead of heating furnaceThis thesis sates the status quo of the heat exchanger development and elaborates on the type of shell-an-tube heat exchanger based on reading lots of documentation from both at home and abroad. Thermodynamics design was made on the shell-an-tube heat exchanger with HTRI Xchanger Suit 5.0 based on heat exchanger thermodynamic calculation equation. Structural design and strength check were made with SW6 in accordance with the national standards, like GB150, GB151. Moreover, compared with the traditional design the thermotechnical and structural design conducted through software improves the efficiency dramatically.Pro/Engineer was also adopted while establishing the 3-D model of the heat exchanger, with the Hyperworks led in to achieve mesh generation and frequently-used Fluent numerically simulating the heat-conduction and flow field of the heat exchanger. The simulation result shows that the design is applicable, that it has certain reference value for similar projects of heat recovery in petrochemical industry.
